Welcome to day 2 of the DMG digital media blog. Meet Mike, AKA DJ Sugar Skull, a midwest based artist here in St. Louis. I met Mike this week about 5 minutes before our shoot; I had no idea what to expect before that. The man had no photos of himself and I had no inspiration going into the shoot, just a few lighting ideas. No idea of a wardrobe and no idea what the man looked like. I was hoping he looked like Rick Ross, although I hope most of my clients look like Rick Ross before we meet. I was a little bummed at first but quickly got over it when I saw he brought a leather jacket. The shoot lasted about 90 minutes and ended with a beer called Simpler Times, another first in the studio.

The above shots were all shot with the 85mm f/1.8 on white seamless using 1 or 2 lights.  Next week we will focus our posts on lighting diagrams and modifiers.
